Outlook 2011 For Mac Error Message Too Big
Outlook for Mac 2011 is a new e-mail client and personal information manager from Microsoft, not just an upgrade to its predecessor, Entourage 2008 ( ). Outlook 2011 has some features that. I have been using Outlook for Mac 2011 for 2 years and just this week switched from Brighthouse to Uverse internet. Now I keep receiving an Error.
Jan 04, 2014 When sending an email througjh Outlook, I attached a file that was too large (90 MB) and it hung up my Send/Outbox process. I learned how to delete the file from the Outbox but I still keep getting a constant message from google of a file too large (like every few seconds). Yep, I have had this problem since 2011. Now on to my 3rd Mac using Outlook for Mac 2011 and I have the same on going problem with Outlook. I have my fonts in outlook set at 14pt but sometimes when emails are received by others the mail has changed the fount size either reducing or increasing the fonts.

Nothing is more annoying than not being able to get your email when you want it and be presented with a sometimes very cryptic or a seeming meaningless error code instead. Although there are a multitude of error codes that you could be presented with, there are a couple of common solutions that work for many cases. Aside from offering common solutions, this guide also contains a list of send/receive error codes which you may encounter and their meaning. For certain error codes, a more specific solution is mentioned. • • • • • • • • • • Check your email account settings. If you just configured your mail account and are directly presented with a send/receive error, you should start with verifying if your account settings are correct.
You can get this information from your ISP or email administrator. Settings for several large free email providers can be found. When you are trying to send a message from another network than the network where the mailbox is located (for instance, from a hotel or a wifi hotspot, then you need to as well.
When Outlook worked before and you’re suddenly presented with send/receive errors, it is still good practice to verify your account settings and make sure that they are current. For example, several ISPs have increased their email security settings which could require you to enable SSL or make port changes. Also, sometimes they have merged with other ISPs and decommission the old account settings over time requiring you to make changes. Trying your account settings on another computer or for testing could help you determining if it is an issue with your current account configuration settings. Disable virus scanner integration.
Virus scanners which integrates themselves with Outlook are a known source of causing all sorts of send receive issues.
Sometimes you’ll open your email client and your email will arrive in your inbox, but when it comes to sending a message you get an error message. Here are the steps to follow for Outlook, Thunderbird etc to fix this. All the settings mentioned are for GreenNet users. (If you’ve come here from a web search and use an email service other than GreenNet, the server names will be different depending on your email provider, and maybe some of the port numbers too.) This is particularly likely to occur when travelling and connecting through a different ISP from normal, because the ISP may block outgoing ports as a safeguard against their connections being used to send spam.
Instructions for changing the port (and sometimes which port to use) may vary depending on the exact version of the email program you are using, but the following covers most of the common ones. Other causes for not being able to send include an invalid recipient address: it’s usually worth recording any error message you see on screen, however cryptic. Thunderbird The usual symptom is that Thunderbird will try to send for about 20 seconds before giving up with “Sending of message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to SMTP server smtp.gn.apc.org timed out.” • Click on Account Settings (usually on the Tools menu) • Right down the bottom of the list of accounts on the left, should be “Outgoing server ( SMTP)”.

• On the top right of the Account settings dialogue box you should see one or more outgoing servers. You probably want the default, which might mention ‘smtp.gn.apc.org’. Click that and ‘Edit’. • Server name should be smtp.gn.apc.org. If the server name does not end gn.apc.org or greennet.org.uk, then possibly you aren’t sending out through GreenNet, and can either check with the service you are using, or switch to GreenNet.
Make sure “Use name and password” is ticked; the username is usually the bit before the @ sign in your email address, or the username you use to log into GreenNet Webmail. The first time you send, Thunderbird may ask you for your GreenNet password. • If the port number listed is “25”, try altering it to “2525” and you can try “none” for “connection security” while you try to get it working (security is optional on 2525). Click “OK” and try sending again. • If that doesn’t work, you might also want to try port 587, which requires STARTTLS security.
